The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has restructured, consolidating federal leadership around AI and data policy and cybersecurity. ONC Chief Micky Tripathi will take on a leading role in AI governance alongside the roles of Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy and National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. The reorganization is part of a wider effort by the HHS to address cybersecurity and data governance. The new structure will also see oversight for technology and data transfer to Tripathi’s department.
