The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is seeking public comment on its proposed HTI-2 rule dealing with health data, technology, and interoperability. The rule aims to boost nationwide information sharing among patients, providers, payers, and public health authorities. Two new sets of criteria under the ONC Health IT Certification Program will focus on standards-based APIs to enable easier end-to-end interoperability between data exchange partners.
