A study by the University of Nottingham found a combination of a very low-calorie diet (VLCD) and diabetes medication Semaglutide was effective at reducing body weight and regulating blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. The combined treatment improved pancreatic function and reduced insulin resistance more than the medication alone. Further long-term research is needed to understand the combination treatment’s impact on diabetes and obesity management.
