HHS to invest over $50 million in hospital cybersecurity

The US government has launched a $50m initiative called UPGRADE to boost hospital cybersecurity, run by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) division, the Advanced Research Project Agency for Health (ARPA-H). The initiative aims to accelerate the detection and response to cyberattacks, amid a 256% rise in large breaches in the healthcare sector over the past five years. ARPA-H is currently soliciting proposals from industry stakeholders on how to address this issue.
