UnitedHealth has been advised by the US health department to notify individuals whose information may have been compromised in the cyber attack on UnitedHealth’s Change Healthcare due to the potentially affected healthcare providers. The attack reportedly left providers without claims infrastructure. The breach, originally attributed to a Chinese group, was later claimed by the defunct group ALPHV (BlackCat), who received $22m in ransom payments from UnitedHealth. However, another group, RansomHub, has also claimed to have the data.
