The privacy watchdog’s investigation into the Cyberport data breach revealed that the company violated two personal data protection laws. It found that the company failed to securely store the data and retained it past its intended period. The breach, which occurred last August, involved the personal data of 13,632 people, including former employees and applicants, managerial staff and business partners. The stolen data included sensitive information like names, passport numbers, bank account numbers, medical reports, and more.
