Salesforce is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire data management firm Informatica, in what could become one of the company’s largest acquisitions. Informatica’s cloud-based enterprise data management service would allow Salesforce to access new cloud products and artificial intelligence capabilities. However, the potential deal could attract regulatory scrutiny and could even fall through. Some analysts see the acquisition as having strategic merit for Salesforce, despite investor concerns about the company’s past acquisitions.
