Vulnerabilities Up 59%: The State Of Healthcare Cybersecurity In 2023 :: Medtech Insight

A study found a 59% increase in cybersecurity vulnerabilities in medical devices and healthcare systems in 2023. The highest number of vulnerabilities was in healthcare IT, which includes software and applications. The study recommends regular penetration testing, maintaining device and software updates, and developing software bills of materials (SBOMs) to combat these risks. It also advises a security-by-design strategy in product manufacturing.
