Cyberattack on insurance giant disrupting business for doctors, therapists

A continuing week-long cyberattack on UnitedHealth’s Change Healthcare, an insurance processing unit used by US pharmacies, is disrupting businesses and potentially impacting revenue. Service providers are incurring multi-million dollar losses due to the inability to submit claims to insurance carriers. Some have switched to alternative clearing houses for their submissions, but many are struggling to adapt, hindering patient medical access. The ALPHV ransomware gang is reportedly behind the attack, which is likened to a systemic attack on the entire healthcare sector.
