Remote genetic education boosts testing rates for inherited cancer risk

An online genetic education program can significantly motivate individuals with a family history of cancer to take genetic testing, according to a study. Featuring 601 participants, the research found 90% of participants completed testing for inherited gene variations linked to pancreatic cancer after taking part in the genetic education program. Post-test questionnaires found undergoing testing did not create anxiety, depression, or cancer worries.
