Augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) are proving beneficial in healthcare, specifically in training clinical staff. Mass General Brigham has been conducting a feasibility study, developing an AR application that substantially improves nurse training. The application has increased staff satisfaction, reduced training time, and clarified processes. This AR approach offers immersive, detailed training while reducing costs and medical waste. The next step is exploring wider AR applications across the healthcare enterprise. However, certain practical aspects of training are still difficult to digitally replicate.
