How Can AI Support Value-Based Care?

AI can improve clinical care if used responsibly and with a human touch, according to a panel at CES 2024. Chris Jagmin of CVS Health’s Aetna stressed it be used in low-risk areas like automating call centres, while Dr. Maria Ansari of The Permanente Medical Group highlighted its predictive capabilities for value-based care. Both warned against using AI for care denials without human oversight. The discussion followed commitments by 28 health providers for responsible AI usage.
