In 2021, healthcare experienced more attacks than any other industry, with hacking as its most common type of breach. Governments are being urged to publish new cyber security standards, and healthcare organisations are advised to adopt a “zero trust” approach and utilise antivirus and “XDR” cyber security software to mitigate these threats. Older healthcare IT systems are particularly vulnerable to attacks.
