The University of Virginia has extended the contract of Dr. K. Craig Kent as EVP for Health Affairs and CEO for UVA Health until 2030. Kent aims to implement UVA Health’s 10-year strategic plan and transform it into the nation’s leading public academic health system. Kent’s priority is staffing and intends to create a culture that encourages people to work for UVA. Currently, UVA has reduced its nurse turnover rate to around 12%, better than the national average, and allocated significant resources into improving its physician culture.
