A “ridiculously weak“ password causes disaster for Spain’s No. 2 mobile carrier

Orange España suffered a significant outage after a cyber attacker gained access to its database using a weak password. According to cybersecurity firm Hudson Rock, the password details were bought in an online marketplace. The hack resulted in changes to Orange’s global routing table, causing disruptions in the company’s data network.
