Scientists at UNIST have developed “NK cell-engaging nanodrones” capable of targeting and eliminating cancer cells. The nanodrones, called NKeNDs, use nanoparticles and proteins to trigger natural killer (NK) cells, a type of immune cell, to attack cancer cells in the body. The technology has shown potential in selectively treating challenging types of cancers, significantly suppressing tumour growth without side effects.
