Android users have been cautioned about ‘Xamalicious’, a new strain of malware hiding on their devices. Cybersecurity firm McAfee discovered the malware in 25 apps, some of which were on Google Play Store, with installations totalling 327,000 times. The malware gathers metadata to steal funds, clicks on ads, and installs other malicious apps. Most infections are reported in Brazil, Argentina, the US, UK, Australia, Mexico, and parts of Europe.
