A new Android malware, called Xamalicious, has been discovered with the ability to execute malicious acts after leveraging the operating system’s accessibility permissions. Cybersecurity firm McAfee found the malware attached to 25 applications distributed on the Google Play Store since mid-2020, with over 327,000 installations. A majority of the infections have been detected in Brazil, Argentina, the UK, Australia, the US, Mexico, and parts of Europe and the Americas.
