‘AGGA’ inventor testifies his dental device was not meant for TMJ or sleep apnea

Tennessee dentist Steve Galella, inventor of the Anterior Growth Guidance Appliance (AGGA), dismissed in court the multiple lawsuits filed by patients suffering from TMJ and sleep apnea, who claim that the dental device left them injured and in some cases, toothless. While Galella’s device was alleged to help treat these conditions, there are no FDA records verifying the AGGA’s registration or empirical evidence to support claims of its efficacy.
