PSA: Watch out for these fake Safari and Chrome updates infecting Macs with AMOS

The Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS) malware, which targets Apple users and steals sensitive data, is being planted inside fake Safari and Chrome browser updates for Mac. The latest AMOS attack mode, called “ClearFake”, mimics previously seen attacks against Windows machines. Users can safeguard against downloading AMOS by avoiding untrusted or unknown software sources and ensuring apps don’t bypass macOS GateKeeper protections.
