Nearly 9 million patients’ records compromised in data breach

A cyberattack on U.S. medical transcription firm Perry Johnson & Associates saw nearly four million patient records from Northwell Health and 1.2 million from Cook County Health stolen, alongside those of four million other patients from undisclosed locations. This is one of the worst medical data breaches in recent years, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
