Three companies, Amazon Web Services, Google, and Cloudflare, have warned about a serious vulnerability, dubbed “Rapid Reset”, that can enable devastating DDoS attacks. The flaw, detected in August, pertains to the HTTP/2 protocol and permits threat groups to overwhelm any server or application running the standard implementation of HTTP/2 by sending and immediately cancelling a stream of requests. Each companies’ respective security services have been able to handle the attacks.
