New York AG Remains Active On The Data Security Enforcement Front

The New York Attorney General (NYAG) has announced a significant settlement with Marymount Manhattan College due to a data breach in 2021. The College will invest $3.5 million over six years to improve its data security program, which includes strengthening encryption and enabling multifactor authentication. The NYAG’s step is part of its larger efforts to boost data security across different sectors.
