Researchers have revealed a side-channel exploit in Apple CPUs named “iLeakage”, affecting recent iPhone, iPad, and MacBook models. The technique takes advantage of speculative execution in A- and M-series Apple silicon CPUs, exploiting the Apple WebKit capabilities in a browser to gain access to valuable CPU cache data. The exploit could allow malicious actors to extract sensitive information, however, it requires advanced knowledge to execute and hasn’t been demonstrated in the wild yet.
