Capital One has confirmed that over 16,500 of its customers’ data was compromised in a cyberattack on NCB Management Services that occurred in February 2023. Following an initial focus on former Bank of America customers, NCB, a debt purchaser, confirmed that other companies had also been affected. The cyberattack leaked sensitive information such as social security numbers and account statuses. Despite assurances that the unauthorized third party no longer has access to NCB’s data, over 1 million more individuals have since been affected.
