CareSource sued for $9.9M in data breach class action lawsuit

Plaintiffs seek more than $9.9m in damages in lawsuits against Dayton-based insurer CareSource over a data breach affecting over three million customers. The firm is accused of not having substantial cybersecurity in place, leading to customers’ data being stolen. CareSource’s software vendor MOVEit was hacked earlier this year. Breached data could include sensitive personal and health details. CareSource said it had launched a “blind and thorough response” and was assisting members to safeguard their data.
