North Korea’s Kimsuky advanced persistent threat (APT) is becoming more sophisticated, using remote-desktop tools and new malware to control victims’ systems. Recently, the group has been seen using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and other tools to remotely control targeted systems, even installing open source software if RDP is not present. The group is also using the virtual network computing (VNC) tool TightVNC and Chrome Remote Desktop to control infected systems. Its ultimate goal is to steal internal information and technology from targets.
