New Android malware, GoldDigger, is stealing money from banking apps, according to cybersecurity firm Group-IB. The malware is disguised in fake apps representing a Vietnamese government portal and an energy company. It’s believed that attackers are inviting victims to download these apps from fake Google Play websites through email or social media. GoldDigger starts by gathering user details and login data for Vietnamese financial, e-wallet and cryptocurrency wallet apps providing the attackers easy access.
