Millions of cheap Android TV boxes come pre-infected with botnet malware

Malware has again been discovered on budget Android TV devices sold by Amazon. The affected devices come from manufacturers AllWinner and RockChip and are capable of launching powerful DDoS attacks or being used as ad fraud bots. IT vendor Dr. WEB says the malware could have come from a firmware update or through downloading a streaming app. It is recommended to use an official device from Sony or Google, for safer streaming.
