York campaigners take legal action against NHS over autism referrals

The North Yorkshire and Humber integrated care board (ICB) is facing legal proceedings by the York Disability Rights Forum (YDRF) over a pilot scheme that reportedly rejects 90% of autism and ADHD assessment applications. Critics argue the program has a two-tier list, denying treatment to many in need. The crowdfunding-backed legal challenge alleges that the pilot breaches numerous legal and statutory responsibilities, as well as national health guidelines.
