A recent study by Ponemon Institute found that a lack of staff expertise is hindering the ability of security experts within the healthcare industry to fully utilize threat intelligence. While 86% of respondents said threat intelligence was valuable to their organization’s security, only 51% said incident responders are currently using it to respond to threats. Lack of expertise and the complexity of threat intelligence data were cited as barriers to effective use. However, awareness and participation in threat intelligence sharing organizations is increasing.
