COVID-19 disrupted transportation in Canada, disproportionately affecting marginalized communities, including those with disabilities. Research conducted with the DisAbled Women’s Network of Canada (DAWN) and Ase Community Foundation for Black Canadians with Disabilities discovered these groups faced major transportation barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare. Participants reported fearing COVID-19 infection on public transit, while many reported a lack of accessible and affordable transportation options. However, the shift to virtual healthcare was lauded.
