71% of IoT medical device ransomware infections caused by user practice issues

A new study by ZingBox, an Internet of Things cybersecurity company, has found that user practice issues account for 41% of security alerts for medical devices connected to the Internet of Things. The study also revealed that imaging systems and nurse call systems are the most susceptible to ransomware attacks, with imaging systems being the source of 45% of all security alerts. The study concluded that securing medical devices should be a priority in order to protect patient data and safety.
