Why Canada must amend the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Beginning in seven months, the new federal legislation will make Canadians with some mental illnesses, including treatment-resistant depression, eligible for medical assistance in dying (MAiD). However, the government is urged to consider amending the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act to allow psychedelic-assisted therapies, such as psilocybin therapy, which has shown promising results in treating mental illnesses.
