Pfizer and Moderna Are Pushing the New Covid Booster. Should You Get It? The CDC Is About to Decide.

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is set to vote on recommending a new Covid-19 booster shot for all Americans over the age of six months. This follows the FDA’s approval of booster shots from Pfizer and Moderna. However, there is debate over whether the shot should be given universally or just to vulnerable groups. Some experts argue that most Americans’ immune systems are already sufficiently familiar with the virus, while others believe a broad recommendation is necessary for insurance coverage. Pfizer and Moderna have increased their vaccine prices to $130 a shot, compared to last year’s $30.
