Toyota has disclosed a security breach that might have exposed about 300,000 customer email addresses. The breach was due to a subcontractor uploading Toyota’s source code to a public-access GitHub repository, which included the password for a server holding client data. Though there is no evidence of misuse, Toyota is advising affected customers to be vigilant of phishing emails and scams.
