Martin Gottesfeld, an Anonymous-affiliated hacker, has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for cyberattacks against Boston Children’s hospital and another facility. Gottesfeld plans to appeal the decision and stated that he wished he could have done more. In addition to the prison sentence, he must pay almost $443,000 in restitution. The cyberattacks disrupted the hospital network for two weeks and also impacted internet services used to treat patients. The attacks were motivated by Gottesfeld’s disagreement with the diagnosis of a Connecticut teenager named Justina Pelletier.
