DirectTrust, a nonprofit alliance, has reported a significant increase in the number of Direct exchange transactions for secure data interoperability. During Q2 of 2019, over 250 million messages were sent and received through the DirectTrust network, marking a 53% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 397% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of healthcare organizations and patients using Direct Secure Messaging has also increased substantially. DirectTrust has also developed Trusted Instant Messaging+, a standard for real-time health information communication.
