The International Criminal Court (ICC) will investigate and prosecute hacking crimes that affect civilian infrastructure like power grids, banks, and hospitals, according to the court’s lead prosecutor, Karim Khan. His comments come amid increasing international concern over Russia’s cyberattacks on Ukraine. Known as cyberwarfare, such crimes could constitute war crimes, genocide, or crimes against humanity, and will be treated as severely as physical warfare.
