How secure are voice authentication systems really?

Researchers at the University of Waterloo have developed a method that can bypass voice authentication systems with up to a 99% success rate after just six attempts. They identified the markers in machine learning-generated deepfake audio that betrayed it as computer-generated and created a programme to remove these markers, making it sound authentic.
