Google says it will delete users’ location history for abortion clinic visits

Google will automatically delete location history data for sensitive places like abortion clinics and domestic violence shelters. The tech giant is adding new protections to delete entries from these locations soon after users visit. In addition, Google plans to introduce updates to Fitbit that allow users to delete multiple menstruation logs at once. Privacy experts have raised concerns about personal data being used as evidence following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Senators are calling on the Office for Civil Rights to update HIPAA to protect patients’ health information from law enforcement agencies.
