Concern for cybersecurity workforce mental health is rising

Healthcare cybersecurity professionals are at risk of experiencing higher-than-normal stress levels and facing mental health risks due to the continuous threat of cyberattacks. Preliminary research on burnout among cyber professionals has shown that they score worse than the general population and even frontline healthcare workers in terms of professional efficacy. The mental health of cyber workers can impact entire populations, as critical systems are exposed to cyber risks. Resignation rates among cybersecurity professionals are rising, particularly due to the growth of ransomware attacks. Regular incident response training exercises can help build their confidence.
