Cyber hygiene issues like outdated software, weak encryption and misconfigurations have been identified in Australia’s largest companies, according to research by Tenable. The study of 25 organisations found on average, each had almost 12,000 internet-facing assets susceptible to potential exploitation. The findings highlight the importance of cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and critical systems. The report also identified vulnerabilities in APIs and over 12,000 internal assets exposed externally, increasing the risk of cyberattacks.
