Cyberattack Impacts Two Ambulance Services in the UK

A cyberattack on the South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust and the South Central Ambulance Service Trust in the UK has disrupted access to electronic patient records, affecting services to a population of about 12 million people. The attack targeted Ortivus’s MobiMed ePR, the system used by these services, but did not directly impact patients. NHS England has launched an investigation into the incident and is working with Ortivus to restore the systems.
