Lazarus Group Debuts Tiny Trojan for Espionage Attacks

North Korean hackers have been launching a renewed cyber-attack campaign against US and European critical infrastructure using upgraded malware named QuiteRAT, according to cyber security firm Cisco Talos. The QuiteRAT trojan, a smaller variant of previously identified MagicRAT malware, uses the rarely exploited QT open-source development framework, making detection difficult. The malware appears to target internet backbone infrastructure and healthcare institutions and exploits a flaw in Zoho’s ManageEngine ServiceDesk app.
