70% of US IT Leaders Told Not to Disclose Data Breaches

Despite an obligation to report cyberattacks, 42% of IT leaders were asked to keep some attacks confidential, a figure that rose to 70.7% in the US, according to a Bitdefender report. The report also highlighted concerns regarding new US and EU data breach laws and increasing threats amid a shortage of skilled security staff. The study showed that company-wide awareness needs to increase to mitigate insecure coding and social engineering tactics.
