Socket security researchers have discovered a sophisticated malware campaign targeting the Go ecosystem. The unknown attacker, using malware hidden inside seven fake Go packages on the Go Module Mirror, uses typographical errors to mimic commonly used libraries. The malware, primarily targeting Linux and macOS systems, constructs and runs a shell command to download and execute a remote script, and appears designed for persistence and longevity.
