The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have announced two national testing days for HIPAA-covered entities to test their compliance with the HIPAA 5010 electronic claims submissions. The testing days, on June 15 and Aug. 24, will provide real-time help desk support and access to Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs). CMS encourages trading partners to organize their own testing and successful testing is required before production. More details about transactions and state Medicaid agencies participating will be announced later.
