RNA editing technology is gaining ground as a possibly safer alternative to gene editing. It enables changes in protein-manufacturing instruction molecules without altering the original DNA code. Five companies are currently spearheading innovation in RNA editing: AIRNA, Ascidian Therapeutics, Korro Bio, Wave Life Sciences, and ShapeTX. This new treatment method may offer a cure for patients with rare and common diseases and has received considerable investment, with the global RNA editing market predicted to grow at a 6.94% CAGR until 2029.
