And what’s more, an impressive force of 34 servers located in wide stretches from the Netherlands to the UK, Germany to Australia, Finland to Switzerland, and France all the way to the United States, witnessed a surprise shutdown. Imagine the stunned faces of those hackers – absolutely priceless!
Brace yourself for more, the drama intensifies – two of the chief LockBit culprits in Poland and Ukraine got their collars felt, thanks to the judicious French. And the French and the Yanks have, with combined effort, unrolled a string of three international arrest warrants and five indictments.
Here’s the cherry on top – over 200 cryptocurrency accounts, each a cog in this huge syndicate, have been frozen solid. It’s clear, isn’t it? The authorities are pulling out all stops to crush the economic incentives that fuel such digital malice.
